style=&#8221;dotted&#8221; border_width=&#8221;2&#8243; css_animation=&#8221;right-to-left&#8221; accent_color=&#8221;#5eb3d2&#8243;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>In order to strengthen and standardize our &gt;6 year rainwater monitoring for isotopic analyses of \u03b4<sup>2<\/sup>H, \u03b4<sup>18<\/sup>O and <sup>3<\/sup>H in Ecuador, we installed two Palmex Rain Sampler RS1. <\/strong><\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The monitoring sites are the Mera (1200 m., Amazon region) and the Salesiana Polytechnical University-South Campus (2850 m., Andean region) in collaboration with Alex Bentley and Dr. Sheila Serrano-Vincenti respectively.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;8855&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]This ongoing campaign allows us to reconstruct long term isotopic records for studying extreme rainfall events, calibration of paleoclimate archives (i.e., tree-rings, speleothems, ice-cores) and tritium distribution at the equator.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;8862&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_column_text]We successfully concluded our visit giving a lecture regarding the use of isotopes in research for the Faculty of Geochemistry and Pharmacy at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ups.edu.ec\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Salesiana Polytechnical University.<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;8865&#8243;
