In mid-April, two laser based Liquid Water Isotope Analyzer were installed produced by Los Gatos Research, which are suitable for measuring δ²H, δ¹⁸O and δ¹⁷O of water samples.

The instruments operate on the principle of laser-based absorption spectroscopy, which is an accurate optical absorption method for measuring isotopologues (H₂¹⁶O, H₂¹⁷O, H₂¹⁸O, H²HO) in a single gas matrix.
